Theresa Shelton, Vine Grove, KY

Theresa Shelton grew up on a small farm in Hardin County, KY and many of her subjects reflect a passion for this rural life. Theresa was encouraged by her mother to develop her drawing and other creative skills. Later she studied with artists to expand her techniques.

Since purchasing the Haynes Greenhouse in Vine Grove, KY, in 1978, Theresa and her husband have enjoyed working there together. The greenhouse has provided Theresa with much subject matter for her paintings.

Theresa especially enjoyed working in oil and pastel, and regularly paints “en plein aire” (on location. Theresa is a juried member of the Kentucky Craft Marketing program, Oil Painters of American, and the KY Guild of Artists and Craftsmen.
