Art in Wood is the combined effort of a husband and wife team – Doug and Mary Ridley. Doug is the sculptor of such creatures as song birds, birds of prey, fish and deer, and of the year-round-favorite Cypress knee Santas and Santa ornaments in three different styles. Mary finishes the creations with oil paints.

The Ridley’s, who have been married since 1954, have been in business together since 1985s. Their work is owned by collectors around the United States as well as in several foreign countries.

The Ridleys’ wood carvings can be found at Kentucky Artisan Center at Berea, Berea, KY; and the National Quilt Museum, Paducah, KY.
