Since 1980 Jeff Enge and Sarah Culbreth have been creating beautiful and functional handmade pottery and selling it through their studio, Tater Knob Pottery. Located only ten miles from downtown Berea and open to the public year round from 9am-5pm Monday through Saturday, Tater Knob Pottery continues to be a popular site in the Berea Community’s studio art landscape.

Sarah and Jeff both received their pottery training while students at Berea College. They take inspiration for their pottery from the beauty of their natural surroundings. Their studio is located on a hillside amidst their beautiful scenic farm nestled in the foothills of the Cumberland Mountains. The public is welcome to watch them work and see as much of the clay process as time allows.

Tater Knob Pottery’s popular dinnerware, oil lamps, ceramic bells and spoonbread bakers are exhibited in arts and craft galleries all across the region. Sarah and Jeff’s work is crafted from beautiful red clay fired to 2185 degrees F which turns it to a solid glass, making it useful in the oven, microwave and dishwasher.
