A native of Lexington, Jennifer Lackey Moore comes from an artistic family. With a brother who is a painter and a mother who as a stained glass artist, Jennifer was immersed in the arts since she was a child. While growing up, Jennifer would often accompany her mother to retail art fairs and in 1994, when her mother purchased new equipment - Jennifer claimed the old.

Two years after setting up her stained glass studio, Jennifer became interested in fused glass. She purchased a glass kiln and taught herself how to fuse glass for jewelry. Jennifer says that she has always wanted to make jewelry - starting in high school when she made jewelry from objects found on her father’s workbench.

Jennifer states, “I think I’m a bit of a raccoon - I like things that sparkle and that probably is why glass is so attractive to me. Early on I loved the beautiful red glass that I saw in my grandmother’s house . . . She had one paperweight in particular that was just fascinating - and as a child I was convinced there were fish in it!”

Jennifer eventually began incorporating sterling silver into her jewelry, taking a silversmithing course with Allen Jewell to learn different techniques. Incorporating silver with her fused glass, Jennifer combines colors and texture in her work and has recently begun to create beaded necklace bands to hold her fused glass pendants.

Jennifer is a juried member of the Kentucky Guild of Artists & Craftsmen.
