Kathy Zajac, Munfordville, KY glass
A native of Cleveland, Ohio, Kathy Zajac moved to Kentucky from California in the 1980s. Together with her partner Joe Larson, Kathy has built her own home and glass studio named Home Studio Art Glass.
Kathy first began working in stained glass in 1981 and in 1990 began learning the process of fused glass, taking many courses and workshops to further her knowledge of glass techniques. She now produces one-of-a-kind works which have a Zen-like quality. Kathy creates functional and decorative pieces for the home.
Kathy has also designed stained glass windows and has exhibited at the Ohio Designer Craft fairs as well as the St. James Art Fair in Louisville for several decades. She received an Individual Artist Professional Grant from the Kentucky Arts Council in 2002 to study glass Micro-Mosaics with Kathleen Sheard at The Studio in Corning, NY. Her work was selected for the 2005 Exhibition of Masks at “Woman Made Gallery” in Chicago. Kathy is a juried member of the Kentucky Guild of Artists & Craftsmen.
Works by Kathy Zajac can be found at the Kentucky Artisan Center at Berea, Berea, KY.
